Privacy Policy
How we handle your family's information — in plain language, with kids' safety first.
Effective August 1, 2026
1. Who this applies to
This Privacy Policy explains how Zylyy ("Zylyy," "we," "us") handles personal information for everyone who uses our service: parents and guardians who book rides ("riders"), the children who ride, and the drivers who provide rides.
Because Zylyy transports children, we hold ourselves to a higher standard than a typical rideshare. We collect only what we need to deliver a safe ride, and we never sell your family's data.
2. Information we collect
From parents/guardians: your name, phone number, email, saved places, and the pickup and drop-off addresses for each ride. When you save a payment method, our payment processor (Stripe) stores your card; we receive only a token and the last four digits — never your full card number.
About your child: the first name (or nickname) you provide, and the people you authorize to drop off or receive them. You provide this information as the child's parent or guardian.
During a ride: real-time GPS location of the vehicle, ride status, and — where enabled and consented to — in-vehicle video and audio for safety.
From drivers: legal name, contact details, date of birth, driver's license, vehicle information, background-check results, and location while online.
Automatically: device and app information and essential cookies needed to keep you signed in (see our Cookie Policy).
3. Children's information (COPPA)
Zylyy accounts are held by adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Any information about a child is provided by their parent or guardian, who consents to our use of it to provide and safeguard the ride.
A parent or guardian may review, update, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us.
4. In-ride recording
For child safety, rides may be recorded (in-car and, at hand-off, the exterior). Recording is disclosed to and consented to by both the parent and the driver before it begins, and a live/recording indicator is shown.
Recordings are stored securely, access is limited to authorized safety and support staff (and the child's parent on request), and they are retained only for the period stated at the time of the ride and then deleted. We disclose the exact retention period and consent terms in the ride flow and Terms of Service.
5. How we use information
- Match a rider with a nearby driver and run the ride end to end.
- Provide live tracking and the child-in-car safety hand-off.
- Send verification codes, ride updates, and receipts.
- Process payments and any applicable waiting charges.
- Verify drivers, run background checks, and keep the platform safe.
- Respond to safety incidents and comply with the law.
6. How we share information
With your driver: the information needed to complete the ride (name, pickup/drop-off, and who is authorized at hand-off).
With service providers acting on our behalf: SMS/verification (Twilio), payments (Stripe), and live video (LiveKit). They may use the data only to provide their service to us.
For safety and legal reasons: to respond to an emergency, protect a child, or comply with a valid legal request.
We never sell your personal information, and we never share your child's location or recordings with advertisers.
7. Location data
We use precise location only while a ride is active — to match, track, and safeguard the trip. Drivers share location while they are online. We do not track riders or children when no ride is in progress.
8. Data retention & security
We keep information only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and safety obligations, and resolve disputes, then delete or de-identify it. Verification codes are handled by our SMS provider and are never stored in plain text, and access to trip, location, and video data is restricted to those who need it.
9. Your choices & rights
You can review, update, or delete your account information, saved places, and payment methods at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the use of your information — contact us and we will help you exercise them.
10. Changes & contact
We will update this policy as the service grows and will note the effective date above. For any privacy question or request, email support@zylyy.com.
